The Google Meet Classroom Extension was created by Christopher Keers to assist fellow teachers in managing online classrooms. Christopher is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Computer Information Technology Department at Brigham Young University Idaho (BYUI). This extension is being provided and managed by Christopher’s business Caboodle Tech Inc and IS NOT ENDORSED OR WARRANTIED by BYUI or any other entity of the Church Education System (CES) or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This extension temporarily records a small amount of information when the Raised Hand feature is used. This information is sent in a secured and encrypted manner by a POST message over HTTPS to Caboodle Tech Inc.
This extension records 3 pieces of information ONLY WHEN a user uses the Raise Hand feature. If you use the Raise Hand feature the following information will temporarily be recorded:
When you press the Lower Hand button or any other user clicks on your name in the Hand Up list this information will be deleted from our database. In the event that there is a technical glitch or all users leave a meeting without removing all the raised hands, our server runs a cron job to delete raised hands every ~6 hours.
When you use the Raise Hand feature any other participants in your meeting using the Google Meet Classroom Extension will receive a copy of this information; this is how other participants in your meeting know you raised your hand. This is how the extension will use this information:
No other information is collected or stored by Caboodle Tech Inc. Your information is never sold or shared with a third party beyond what was outlined above.
If you wish to support the Google Meet Classroom Extension you can do so in 2 ways.
